project management
In 1998, we developed a Project and Management Information System for as lead engineering company. Sixteen years on, even though it has evolved, the fundamentals of the original development are still at the core of this software.
Core components:
- Client management
- Fee Estimating
- Project initiation – task based sign off
- Project review of time, lump sum and period phases including time and direct cost
- Time entry and sign off
- Purchasing and payments
- Expense claims
- Invoicing/Crediting
- Aged debts/Aged work in progress
- Client Satisfaction
- Historical, current and future financial and productivity reporting
In 2004, we introduced a module that would tracked actual costs against predicted costs. Monitoring this information, project managers could preempt budget overruns and justify change order requests.
Another project management system we developed was for an IT consulting company. Their objective was to manage small to large projects using a cost plus method. This system is still in use after 15 years. The following speaks for it’s self.
Quote: “The database you developed for us is invaluable and we couldn’t do without it.”
